[Since this graph, Clinton’s gone to 65.4, 65.1, 64.6, 64.7, 66.9, 69.0. She’s leveled out!] This shows day-by-day chances of winning an election held on that day. It looks like the chance of Trump winning will be 50-50 on election day. (Here it is up to the minute.)
W. Bush ran as a “compassionate conservative.” He brought us 9/11, the Iraq war, and ISIS. And he left us with an economy losing jobs at the rate of 10-million per year. Trump and his alt-right political-brain Steve Bannon will make Bush look like your ever-so-sweet kindergarten teacher.
For starters, Trump will destroy everything Obama has accomplished. He plans to undo all of Obama’s executive orders on day 1. Citizens United will look like a liberal Supreme Court decision for the next 20 or 30 years. He will help Putin wreck a few European democracies and spark extensive violence against minorities.
This will likely provoke a somewhat violent reaction, which will then provide an pretext for proto-fascist measures. He favors using Nukes as more than a threat. He promises a return to torture but “a hell of a lot worse than water-boarding.” He will ramp up our contributions to global warming.
Everything (perhaps even civilization itself—you just never know) depends on getting out the vote for Hillary. Vote for her no matter where you live. The stronger her vote the more it weakens trump’s power. And that is going to be incredibly important, win or lose.
If you know a Bernie supporter voting for Johnson, read this.
If you know a Bernie supporter voting for Jill Stein, read this.
Check your environmentalist friends. (The Environmental Defense Fund is still not backing Clinton.) Lots of them seem not to get the difference between a strong environmentalist who is not a one-issue candidate and the worst anti-environmentalist we’ve ever seen.
And if you possibly can free up a bit of time this week, work for Clinton.
