On Terror: Totally Sure. Completely Confused. And Dangerous!

Trump speaks kindly of dictators, communist and fascist — Putin, Gaddafi, Assad, Kim Un and Saddam Hussein. But he’s seems to be using Hussein to advocate policy for America, how we should fight terrorism. Does he even know what he’s talking about? And does America really need to learn from Saddam? Could Bush and the Republicans have been that wrong?

“He killed terrorists. He did that so good. They didn’t read them the rights. They didn’t talk. They were terrorists. Over. Krugman on Terrorism — Almost Right

Krugman’s op-ed on terrorism is generally excellent. No, those puny terrorists can’t destroy western civilization, a spectre raised by Jeb! Bush, who apparently learned nothing from his big brother. And yes, appeasement (as the Liberals in Canada are doing) is a dreadful idea.

But right at the end he misses the most horrible truth when he says “Do you remember all the pronouncements that 9/11 would change everything? Well, it didn’t — and neither will this atrocity.” Unfortunately Krugman’s dreaming. So what did 9/11 change?

The UN reports that ISIS is training boys of ten as child soldiers and girls as sex slaves, crucifying children and burying them alive. Obama calls ISIS “a brutal, vicious death cult that, in the name of religion, carries out unspeakable acts of barbarism”. But don’t worry; Code Pink’s Medea Benjamin explained her plan on Fox News (quotes below): Stop bombing and call a conference of the allies! Terrorists Routed — ISIS Blames Obama’s Air Strikes

A pro-ISIS news agency has released a video showing two Islamic State fighters blaming airstrikes by the US-led coalition for the ISIS defeat in the strategic Kurdish town of Kobani. Contrary to far-left and far right predictions that the US policy was in ruins two weeks after the coalition challenged ISIS in Kobani, ISIS lost about 1,000 men, the Kurds, 350, and the US, none.
