Moore just tweeted, “Cuba 1, USA 0. Congrats on winning.” and “Cuba’s pissy whiny neighbor grows up. Thank u Obama.” Hate radio and the Tea-Party are loving it, as well they should. It will offend most, and polarize America as much as any right-wing talk show host. Those of us who want a kinder and more peaceful nation need to speak out against those like Moore, who sabotage our efforts (remember he backed Nader, who threw the election to Bush).

I know Moore’s supporters will point out the Bay of Pigs invasion, assassination attempts and so forth. That misses the point. Moore is doing nothing to right these wrongs. Cuba also has behaved atrociously, but towards its own population. So the Tea Party will insult Cuba as Moore insulted the USA. But insulting either side at this point only helps those who wish to perpetuate hatred.

Moore’s quotes are not just immature and offensive, they are extremely hurtful to the cause he claims to support. This is nothing new for him, as you can see here.
