Should you trust Hillary? Many people say they don’t. But does this reflect reality or media mythology? Investigative reporter says she’s “honest and trustworthy”
Jill Abramson was the New York Time’s first woman executive editor and served as Washington Bureau chief. “As an editor I’ve launched investigations into her business dealings, her fundraising, her foundation and her marriage. As a reporter my stories stretch back to Whitewater. I’m not a favorite in Hillaryland. That makes what I want to say next surprising. Joan Walsh, writing for The Nation, has declared “his time, as opposed to 2008, I’m supporting Clinton, joyfully and without apologies.”

I’m tired of seeing her confronted by entitled men weighing in on her personal honesty and likability. Michael Hulshof-Schmidt, a “very strong supporter of Bernie Sanders” states that his research indicates that the reality is… “that Hillary Clinton is one of the most honest politicians tracked by the Pulitzer Prize winning fact-checking project, Politifact.”
He goes on to to say, “I truly believe that Hillary and her platform are beneficial to people of color, people in poverty, people with disabilities, veterans, LGBTQ people. Rebecca Traiser, New York Magazine writer: “I used to think of her as Darth Vader – more machine than woman. Then I spent several days with Hillary Clinton near the end of primary season. Far from seeing a remote or robotic figure, I observed a woman who had direct, thoughtful, often moving exchanges. Republicans say she’s highly regarded
Over the years, Republicans, from Dick Morris to John McCain, have talked of Clinton’s kindness and compassion. Other Republicans have described her as “highly regarded,” “engaged,” and having a keen sense of humor.
As the NY Daily News explains, “Yes, nearly every Republican despises that woman — except the Republicans who actually know her personally, having encountered her up close in the Senate or White House. To read their raves about Clinton over the years is to understand how badly her personal image has been distorted by decades of negative coverage and political propaganda.”
Michael Medved, a conservative talk radio host, attended Yale Law School with Hillary and remembers her as “intensely likable.” Indeed, he said, “to this day I don’t know anyone, literally not anyone, who didn’t like her, find her warm, sympathetic, a manifestly good person, a well-meaning person, not full of herself, not puffed up at all, down-to-earth, and a good friend . . much nicer than what (her) critics think.” Republicans’ love for Hillary Clinton
All agree: the media’s view is just mythology
There’s a reason the press is full of insinuations but has never, in 35 years of searching, found one email that actually caused a problem or one donation that resulted in a corrupt action. There’s nothing of substance to find.
She’s just a tough-but-kind, hard-working policy wonk. A get-things-done negotiator. She’s the insider that never learned to play the media game. She is Trump’s exact opposite.
Corrupt insiders hate nothing more than an insider that fights for the little guy, children in particular, and the sick, the poor, and those discriminated against. And the press loves any hint of scandal, fabricated or not. This is why we should fight for her. If good people don’t speak up, the hateful trolls will win.
